MEET THE FACES BEHIND THE PROGRAM

and learn why we created infOasis

TEAM LEAD: Zoe Cross

Why infOasis: We decided on infOasis  to enhance media literacy among college students who are often under catered to in terms of radicalization prevention methods. InfOasis will aim to combat radicalization by foster critical thinking, ultimately striving to build a more resilient and tolerant society

RESEARCH LEAD: Ted Hirsch

Why infOasis: inf0asis is very important to me as it attempts to tackle one of the problems of our generation and subsequently encourages people to be more open minded and to learn about how scary and exciting of a tool the internet can be.

INTERNAL LEAD: Ashton Labarta

Why infOasis: Inf0asis to me is a way for the generation of young kids and young adults to learn about the real importance of media literacy in today's world. As social media rises, I want to be apart of the team of leaders that teach people how to spot misinformation and remain properly informed!

EDITOR/INTERNAL REPORTS MANAGER: Kevin John

Why infOasis: I am doing this project because I am passionate about combatting misinformation. I hope that through Infoasis, we will be able to foster a more informed society and contribute to the fight against the spread of false information.

DATA COORDINATOR: AYLAH DHRUV

Why infOasis: I decided to join this project because I think that as technology advances the ability to tell the difference between what is real and what is computer generated will become more and more important. In recent years as students, we have seen the difference things like ChatGPT can make in our lives and while AI can be a valuable tool I think the importance of media literacy will become even more valuable. I hope to help other students become more confident when it comes to media literacy and spotting misinformation

SECRETARY: Katherine Gonzalez

Why infOasis: My hope for InfOasis is to prevent radicalization from occurring in a group of young adults who are being exposed to a new world of media in college. Our goal for InfOasis is to improve medial literacy and overall create a persevering community of young adults.

REPORTS MANAGER: Stefanie Mena-Gonzalez

Why infOasis: Inf0asis to me is about empowering young people with the skills to navigate the world. My goal is to teach our future leaders how to discern disinformation and make informed decisions that matter the most to them!

BUDGET MANAGER: Makenna Osterfeld

Why infOasis: InfOasis is important to me because of the increasing misinformation being put online that I know I consume, so I wanted to learn more to help combat it.
